New: Charlotte Lit Book Club!

Charlotte Lit welcomes Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, author of Even As We Breathe (University of Kentucky Press, 2020) for our March 2021 Wednesdays@Lit. NPR's Elizabeth Blair said, "This is a novel of intimacy and poignancy but also an exploration of how war and racism affect people's daily lives. As Cowney puts it, 'Empathy is fossilized in our bones.'" The website Bitter Southerner said, "Clapsaddle's Even As We Breathe is the story of a young Cherokee man setting out in the world and discovering that in returning home, he might finally realize his full potential. And behind that story is the story of a debut author who did much the same."

Let's read and discuss this book together, with the author. Purchase at Park Road Books and receive 20% off by mentioning Charlotte Lit. March 24, 6 p.m. via Zoom.
